Office Twelve

Introduction

Office Twelve is a multi-award-winning design partner to global brands, based in the UK and Netherlands. They translate brand expressions into intellectually put-together spaces to meet key objectives, whatever the industry. Waste has designed a brand identity for Office Twelve (O12) that raises the company’s profile and helps convey what it does.

The Brief

Waste was asked to develop a new brand identity for Office Twelve that would raise the company’s profile and convey what it does. Specialising in spatial design, the identity needed to be modular and adaptive to represent the innovative environments that Office Twelve create.

The Output

The brand identity is centred around a custom typeface constructed of two basic forms: a straight and a bend. Waste developed an entire alphabet and custom typeface, called O12 Stencil. Built on a 12-degree grid, the modular elements of the typography can be constructed and deconstructed in endless possibilities whilst being systematic and structural. Aspects of the identity can take up and fit any space they occupy, cleverly echoing the company’s approach to its work.

Waste chose not to give the identity a colour palette, and instead derives colour, texture and fills from the space in which the branding exists. The brandmark can be dynamic, transparent and neutral; it utilises and reflects the variety of materials and finishes used throughout the spaces O12 designs and creates.
